Postcard

I've just sent a postcard via Moonpig to my Uncle Tony for his birthday on Friday.  He'll be 81. I have a dilemma regarding birthdays.  While not explicitly condemned in The Bible, they are not exactly encouraged either and there is no record of Jesus' birthdate nor that of any of the patriarchs. Bad things happen when birthdays are mentioned (e.g., Pharoah and Herod).   Maybe it is best to err on caution and stop keeping them.  I hope the kids don't mind. PTO

Tired

I've had an exhausting last week and weekend just gone and need time to recharge my batteries.  I'm going to take this week off before starting work again on 1 September. In the meantime, I thought I'd listen to TOTP.

October 3

...is the next "most likely" date for Christ's Return, being The Feast of Trumpets in the Jewish Calendar. This Feast in particular signals the soon-coming arrival of The Messiah by the sounding of trumpets in The Holy Land. This year, it also coincides with German Reunification Day. Take IT seriously.

Hate Homosexuals

I just bought a Helly Hansen T-shirt from the RNLI shop - my last ever purchase from the RNLI charity. As a typical homo in the past, I would often buy T-shirts (and Shirts) I didn't really need.  That is going to stop now.

Metro Centre

I'd like to go to The Metro Centre in Gateshead and, in particular, go to the M&S store there to buy some clothes. M&S stands for Mother & Son, in homage to Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III as it is built on Church of England land. I have decided to keep my MTB .

Great Britain

The Paris Olympics finished yesterday, and didn't Team GB do well?! We came 7th in the Final medal table with 14 Gold, 22 Silver, and 29 Bronze (a total of 65 medals overall). Time for a G&T anyone?!

Trump

...would do well not to underestimate his opponent Kamala Harris.  It will be a tightly fought election this November 5.  Let the people decide!  Tks be to God.  Praise The LORD!

Sarah's Birthday

This evening, we celebrated Sarah's birthday (my sister-in-law).  We opted for a Chinese take-away as her baby boy Jack (my youngest nephew) was poorly following some injections he had had so we thought it best not to go out.  So plans for the American Diner are on hold! Still, it was a lovely evening at their house with my Dad Rob, brother Daniel, and his two eldest kids - my nephew Sam and niece Hollie.  As the evening wore on, we dressed-up in silly hats and listened to music!

Hong Kong

It is TIME for the UK to give refuge to ALL Hong Kongers,  fearing a brutal crackdown from authorities in Mainland China.  It's the least we can do for all their years of service under Imperial Rule. We should also grant all those willing to come free passage.

Festival of Dedication

Jesus was in Jerusalem during the Festival of Dedication, otherwise known as Hanukkah, as recorded in John 10:22-39.  However, there is no record that He kept it. This year, AD2024, that happens to start on Christmas Day at sunset.  However, Christmas Day has its roots in pagan festivals and Hanukkah is not a biblically commanded Feast (of which there are only 7).

Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust

A quote from the Common Book of Prayer.   ... AA, or Arthur Andersen, is an American Firm I once worked for in Cambridge, Munich and London which got ahead of itself with the Enron Scandal, and ultimately failed.  Although I worked on Oil & Gas accounts, I am happy to report I had nothing to do with Enron! ... It's now time to fly with AA !
