Le Weekend

From sunset Friday through to midnight Sunday! By all means Friday too to accommodate our Muslim brothers and sisters. Let's promote a 4 day working week (Mon-Thu), starting 31 March 2025.  With any luck, we will see a rise not a fall in productivity in the economy. We have had enough of a permanently switched-on 24/7 culture which damages family life!

 I ordered a pair of Levi 501s this week from Next. They fit well (well, will do perfectly if I lose a bit of weight!) but will return them as I can't really afford them.

Ham-as, Bacon & Pork

 I'm going to quit eating pig this coming Mother's Day (30 March) in honour of my mum who wouldn't touch it. This year 30 March also marks the beginning of British Summer Time, and my nephew Sam's 15th birthday!  The date also marks my cousin Bobby's and his fiancé's engagement anniversary.

Water God

Looks like Indians have upset the Water God.  ? As is traditional at the start of Chinese New Year, bathing is forbidden on the first day - including taking a shower. Oops!

Fires in Los Angeles

Fires started in LA again last week, and have now destroyed more than 2,000 homes with more than 130,000 individuals evacuated.  My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones, cherished homes, and worldly possessions, and my hope is that they can all rebuild their lives as quickly as possible. With any luck, the fires can be contained for Inauguration Day a week Monday (20 January).
