In The Red

From now on, I will do my best not to put either food or clothing on credit cards, unless that card is paid IN FULL on the due date each month. Rather, my payment preference will be a debit card. This week, I have closed down 2 credit cards and changed my M&S account direct debit to pay in full.  I will keep my NEXT Store Account open, but settle it over 3 months at 0% whenever items are added to it.

Techno Future Now!

It is now time to pursue a low-carbon digital network techno-future. Urry described this more preferable scenario as "still full of risks and dangers".  This is where a crisis in capitalism precipitates new investment in a low-carbon world; a low-carbon 'economy-and-society' paradigm.  This would involve networks of self-reliant communes shifting to local and smaller social practices.  Towns would have special features to attract residents, while software would work out 'intelligently' the best means of doing tasks.  Travel would involve smart vehicles integrated with public transport, but long-distance travel would be frowned upon.  Quotas or some form of rationing would be used to ensure services were not 'overused' and would be complemented by virtual travel and video-conferencing. Trinity Sunday - Father's Day 2025

 This Trinity Sunday, it is worth noting that I am blessed with 3 Earthly Dads: - Rob, my step-dad, who brought me up from Age 3 - Joe, my birth Dad, whom I have since reconciled.  He now lives in Spain. - And, last but not least, John from Cambridge, who looked after me during my wild phase in Cambridge and London - and still does to this day! ;)

Start of Summer Balances

My current balances as at 2 June 2025 are: - Total Debt      £3,923   - Total Credit     £289 Anticipated interest to service the debt until completion is £259. On current forecasts, I expect to be debt-free by  9 December 2025.
