BEYOND BLUE SKY

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine by Russian Armed Forces.  It is proving to be a long drawn-out fight enveloping much of the Western World.   If only Russia would withdraw!

 ...has started in Israel.  It is now a full 7 weeks since Boxing Day 2022. Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles at the Superbowl last night, and Rihanna played at Half-Time.

If we make it that far, there's going to be a huge party this May - starting with May Day on 1 May and finishing the month on 31 May.  Watch this space! 

 Today, 27 January, is Holocaust Memorial Day.  May we never forget the horrors of the Holocaust inflicted on the Jews by the Nazis during World War 2.

Today (ET), my Apple Watch Series 8 arrived.  Designed in California, Made in China - how much more global can it get?! I have been busy most of the day playing with my new gadget which I absolutely love!  I'm hoping it will help me get fitter, coupled with a subscription to Apple Fitness+ However, I bought the Watch on credit.  Just now, I checked the US National Debt Clock which records current US debt at around the $31.5trn mark.  This would not be so worrying were it not for the fact that the current speaker of the House shows signs of succumbing to right-wing pressure NOT to raise the ceiling.  If the US were to default, contagion could spread worldwide.  Let's hope it doesn't! The Fall-back is Gold. PS I have every intention of paying back the credit on my Apple Watch!

It is time to privatise the NHS.  It is the only way enough cash can be brought into the service for much needed new technology for a modernised service and to pay increased wages to staff.
