Today, 1 December, marks the start of the meteorological winter. True to form, we have blanket snow for the first time here in the North.
As a wink and a nod to COP28 in Dubai, I plan to practice "hibernating" this winter, i.e. going to bed by 8pm in the hope of saving on energy. I have already broken that rule on Day 1 - it's 8.20pm now, but my intentions are clear and I will do my best except for late-night calls to Australia!
After all, the best way to reduce carbon emissions is not to use energy in the first place.
