Beyond Blue Sky 2025 - Chapter 8 - What Individuals Can Do

Although the Drawdown list might seem grand to the individual, the Union of Concerned Scientists has compiled a list of what individuals can do to contribute to stopping/reducing global warming:

1.    Cars - select one with the best fuel economy

2.     Houses - make your house air-tight

3.    Heating - buy and use a programmable thermostat

4.    Diet - eat less meat, especially beef

5.    Energy - use power strips since these curb 'phantom loads'

6.    Refrigerators and AC units - upgrade if over 5 years old, since new appliances will typically pay back             within 3 years

7.     Electricity monitors - these will help you identify where most domestic energy is used.

8.    Light bulbs - switch to new LED lighting

9.     Washing - wash in cold water to save emissions

10.    Buy less and re-use and recycle.  This also means travelling less.

As a world, we also face clear resource constraints as the population rises, and resources will, therefore, have to be much better managed.  More will be discussed on the Circular/Low Carbon Economy in the next chapter!

Plan de Dieu

I bought a bottle of French Red Wine called Plan de Dieu from M&S yesterday - for Passover, although I am having one small glass now. God's Plan with Mankind has been in the making for the past 6,000 years but the final Endgame comes into full force this weekend ahead of the beginning of the Sacred Year this coming Tuesday, 9 April. Politicians and businessmen think they have a generation left to "solve" Climate Change, but God promises that "for the sake of the elect", "time will be cut short".  This is not to give up hope - we will all be judged for our actions in these Last Days, and we are admonished to do all in our might not to destroy the Earth. ... Yesterday I went to Durham Cathedral for Evensong by St. Catharine's College Cambridge Girls' Choir.  Before I went, I removed all the contents of my under-stairs cupboard ready to sort out.  When I got home, to my surprise, there was a guide to Durham Cathedral in one of the boxes.   Har...

Prayer and Tablets

I pray to God, and He answers by talking back to me through an inner voice.  I draw great comfort from this, knowing for sure than I am not alone. Tonight, I have taken 2 paracetamol tablets on top of my regular medication.  The front part of my forehead hurts, from temple to temple.  It is a dull kind of ache. The final Laodicean Church puts its faith in doctors and medicine above healing from our Creator, God!
