Uncle Tony

Today, 30 August, is my Uncle Tony's 82nd birthday. He is married to my mum's eldest sister, Jennifer, who suffers her demons from schizophrenia He deserves a medal for looking after her all his married life.   Have a Great Day, Uncle Tony!

Beef

Even though in my Climate Change book Beyond Blue Sky (available on Amazon), I  argue for reducing beef consumption, this is NOT to say you should avoid it altogether. Beef, lamb, and chicken are all good meats to eat as part of a healthy, balanced diet.  It is pork, cats and dogs, instead, that should be avoided.  These are considered unclean meats in the Bible. Beef is good for you! BSL .

Stefan

Confession Time: I've slept around a LOT as a gay man.  But tell me that isn't usual! Fact is, I've since repented and turned a corner.  I now consider myself to be straight and celibate

Indulgences

Carbon offsets are nothing more than a modern version of medieval indulgences. It doesn't matter if you pay to absolve your sin - you are still sinning. Similarly, the atmosphere doesn't care where the carbon comes from.  It is still being emitted. REDUCE - RE-USE - RECYCLE!

Percentages

As a percentage of Total Assets and One Year Income, I am currently 1.79% in debt. As a percentage of Annual Income, I am 34.77% in debt. Both figures are high, however, because if I want to pay off my debts within a year, I calculate that I only have £30 free cash per month!  Still, I can live quite frugally, and my bills and food costs are all covered, including gym and bus travel. This is AFTER giving the kids pocket money, which I will start again this November, as I have promised them. I will also manage to save £25 per month towards emergencies and £7 per month in tithes.

IBAN

I hereby ban all new printed books, newspapers and magazines worldwide with effect after the Bank Holiday.  Later today, I will buy my last EVER newspaper! This is an EMERGENCY ORDER to help combat Climate Change. Instead, ebooks and digital formats should be used on computers, phones and tablets - with a far lower carbon footprint

Overbudget

As of today, Saturday, 23 August, I am £54.77 over-budget on my debts. I am going to have to spend this Bank Holiday Weekend at home until I get paid next Tuesday, when I can then settle the overdue amount. STOP-PRESS : Sunday update: the figure is now £110.29 including interest charges

Hendrick's

I miss my sister-in-law's dog, Hendricks.  He is an utterly loving family Labrador who not only makes a great subject for doggy art, but also gets you out and about sniffing around the village and playing ball! HCVA!

V-J Day

Today at midnight marks the end of the war in the Pacific and Far East over Japan some 80 years ago. Also today (Friday), President Trump will meet Putin to discuss an end to the war in Ukraine.  Let's hope and pray peace is also brokered there, and that, as a result, WW3 can be avoided.

Another Recession

The UK is headed towards another recession in 2025Q4, as tariffs bite, wage demands and inflation increase, and unemployment remains stubbornly high.  These will all negatively impact per capita growth.

Washington

Today, President Trump ordered a Federal takeover of Washington, DC's city police - the nation's capitol.  Law and order had broken down.  The takeover will be in effect for 30 days and is 'subject to change'.

Debt

All things considered (including monies owed to the DWP and my O2 for my mobile), I am now £6k in debt. Add to that, an estimated £1k in interest before I manage to pay the debt off, brings the total to £7k. Exodus 20:9-11 I think it is high time I managed my spending better. Who knows, maybe I'll even do a DCF model!

Final Word

FIT Note: Final Word: God Controls The Weather. However, there IS A LIE somewhere in the Holy Bible. We need to find out where before it is too late! I 15 SERIOUS!
